Agents in Wonderland

TELFORD RISE real estate agents Sharon Dewsbury and Andrea Clarke have more than 25 years of experience between them and have sold everything under the sun.

They both come from farming backgrounds in New Zealand.

“It’s a whole other world out there,” Ms Clarke said.

“It can often be overwhelming. A lot of non-farmers buy acreages for a lifestyle change, it’s very common, but there are a few things you need to wrap your head around. We can introduce you to what you need to know and guide you in the right direction.”

For the both of them, there is no better place to sell real estate than the Whitsundays.

“I think it’s the diversity in the people and property available,” Ms Dewsbury said and Ms Clarke agreed.

“You can’t work in real estate if you’re not a people person,” she said.

With more and more newcomers choosing to live in the Whitsundays each year, First National is adamant there is something for everyone.

“It really is one of the most diverse regions in Australia – if you are looking for prime land opportunities we have waterfront blocks, residential house blocks and rural land,” Ms Clarke said.

“We’re like walking, talking local directories. A lot of people come to the region and they don’t want to read a bro- chure full of maps but they do want to know the best schools to send their children or where to get a massage,” Ms Dewsbury said.

“They want someone real to connect with who knows and understands the region and that’s just another part of our job that we love.”
