WHITSUNDAY TENNIS

TUESDAY afternoon social tennis was a beehive of activity on court with Rae Miller, Merle Foot, Kay Hoare and Trish Rouse playing a tight set of ladies doubles with long rallies.

Tuesday night social tennis was an entertaining affair with Rick Galea, Norm Hold, Elly Watkins and Daniel Scott playing a hotly contested set of doubles including some wonderful serving from Norm Hold.

On Wednesday evening all four courts were in action. Pick of the singles matches was the match between Jenny Southern and Riley Applegate.

It was serve and volley for Jenny Southern while Riley was out to hit some down the line winners.

Fit, fun tennis, the upbeat gym workout on a tennis court, was a blistering affair. Lesley Nolan kept up a cracking pace.

Early morning Saturday Social Ladies is catching on with two new faces joining in – a big welcome to Susan Butler and Lisa Moir.

Saturday afternoon social tennis didn’t miss a beat with Graham Curtis, John and Cheryl West and Betty Wilson serving up some titillating tennis.

Coaching pupil of the week was Emma Dinnie for consistent rallying.

Best wishes to club junior Amy Hungerford in the North Queensland State School trials this week.
