HARD-FOUGHT games were the or­der of the day at Proser­pine squash fix­tures this week, with five matches go­ing down to the wire.

Team 2 took on Team 3, with Jenny Mo­ranino 3/27 com­fort­ably beat­ing Nicki Mur­ray 0/ 11.

Di Law 3/39 just de­feated Deb­bie Brown in an ex­cit­ing five game match, with both get­ting equal points.

In an­other match stretch­ing out to five games, San­dra Wat­son 3/37 de­feated Pauline Ogilvie 2/24.

Mar­ian Church­ward 3/27 beat Leah McKel­lan 0/7 and Louise Cox 3/27 de­feated Di O’Don­nell 0/17. In play be­tween teams 2 and 4, Aimee Hill 3/27 de­feated Chris Fuller and Joy Vi­tanza 3/37 won on a for­feit.

Belinda Faust 3/38 (play­ing for Brenda Cowan) edged out Alex Ogilvie-Knight 3/33 in five games.

Julie Mitchell (Play­ing for Brenda Cowan) 3/34 de­feated Lucy Pep­per in the fourth match of the day to go to five games, and Jodie Fer­di­nand 3/ 41 de­feated Tiani Pauly (play­ing for Judy Hughes) 2/35, mak­ing it five matches that went to five games for the day.

Next week, Team 2 will take on Team 3, while Teams 1 and 4 do battle.
