Squash games down to the wire
HARD-FOUGHT games were the order of the day at Proserpine squash fixtures this week, with five matches going down to the wire.
Team 2 took on Team 3, with Jenny Moranino 3/27 comfortably beating Nicki Murray 0/ 11.
Di Law 3/39 just defeated Debbie Brown in an exciting five game match, with both getting equal points.
In another match stretching out to five games, Sandra Watson 3/37 defeated Pauline Ogilvie 2/24.
Marian Churchward 3/27 beat Leah McKellan 0/7 and Louise Cox 3/27 defeated Di O’Donnell 0/17. In play between teams 2 and 4, Aimee Hill 3/27 defeated Chris Fuller and Joy Vitanza 3/37 won on a forfeit.
Belinda Faust 3/38 (playing for Brenda Cowan) edged out Alex Ogilvie-Knight 3/33 in five games.
Julie Mitchell (Playing for Brenda Cowan) 3/34 defeated Lucy Pepper in the fourth match of the day to go to five games, and Jodie Ferdinand 3/ 41 defeated Tiani Pauly (playing for Judy Hughes) 2/35, making it five matches that went to five games for the day.
Next week, Team 2 will take on Team 3, while Teams 1 and 4 do battle.
