Ideal con­di­tions make for close play

■ WHIT­SUN­DAY GOLF

DE­SPITE sev­eral of the regular play­ers be­ing on an over­seas trip, 18 Whit­sun­day play­ers turned out for a Two Ball Am­brose com­pe­ti­tion last Sun­day.

Golf­ing con­di­tions were ideal, not too hot, not too much breeze and the course was in ex­cel­lent con­di­tion.

Scores were close with victory go­ing to Ross Richards and Kym Hill on a count­back from Jac­qui Wall and Rod Wecker, both on 65.5 nett.

Third place went to Anna Win­ter­bourn and Ron Jamieson with a very cred­itable 68.25 nett.

Long­est drives went to Rod Wecker (A Grade), Kevin Mills (B Grade), Ti­ina Rand­mae (Ladies 1-39) and Linda Wardroper (Ladies 40+)

Near­est the pins for the day went to Anna Win­ter­bourn and Ron Jamieson with their sec­ond shot on the sec­ond hole, Kym Hill and Ross Richards with their sec­ond shot on the ninth, Dean Kercher and Bren­don Me­harry with their first shot on the 13th, and Benn Ryan and Joanne Moyni­han with their sec­ond shot on the 16th. Next Sun­day will be a sin­gle Stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion with tee off as nor­mal.
