Hoax caller caught
A 36-YEAR-OLD Jubilee Pocket man was arrested at 9.30pm last Wednesday for making hoax calls. The man made several 000 calls between the hours of 6.25 and 9.30pm asking for the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) to come to his address. Officer in Charge of the Whitsunday Police Station, Acting Senior Sergeant Simon Walter, said QFRS responded to the calls twice but on each occasion there was no emergency. He said when police caught up with him the man was “extremely violent” and damaged one of the cells at the watch house. He will appear in court at a later date.
