Questionable role models

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY NEWS AND VIEWS -

HURRAH for Australia. The land of the free where football players using drugs walk free.

Well, of course, there was a sort of fine about, about as much as flicking dust off a football boot.

Was there a conviction recorded? What nonsense we can have that sort of thing, otherwise we would have the streets crowded with candle lit vigils and prayer meetings.

What splendid role models we are setting up for our youth and coming generations, or maybe this is the bright future for them politicians are always talking about.

There is a growing awareness that the perverse difference between law and justice is widening much to the detriment of justice, but of course betterment to the cost factor of the legal service, argueing over fine points of the law, that to the lawman at any rate are completely irrelevant to the case in hand.

How great for our gladiators of the boot when they have a great firewall of money to smooth their transit of peccadillos, without losing too much skin.
