Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY NEWS AND VIEWS -

A WHITSUNDAY man accused of possessing child exploitation material tried to plead guilty to the charge in the Proserpine Magistrate’s Court this week.

Bradley James Geering was caught with images of young girls on September 24 in Proserpine.

In court on Monday he said he wanted the matter dealt with but he was told by police prosecutor Elizabeth Smith “you can’t”.

“You need to see a lawyer – you’ve got Cat three and Cat four images here,” she said.

Magistrate Ron Muirhead elaborated on this by telling Geering “the charge is so serious that it can’t be dealt with in this court”.

“It has to be dealt with by a judge in the district court,” he said.

The case was adjourned to April
