Dedicated to your health outcomes
EVER-GROWING and ever striving to give their clients the best possible health outcomes, Amcal Pharmacy naturopath June Gobbos has just added another certificate to her impressive stash.
Ms Gobbos recently completed a professional seminar called ‘Confident and Safe Prescribing alongside Pharmaceuticals for Better Patient Outcomes’.
Both natural and pharmaceutical medicines have a lot to offer the health of patients.
Ms Gobbos believes pharmaceutical medicines have the ability to control physiological and pathophysiological processes in the body, alleviating symptoms and reducing the acute risk for many individuals.
She proposes that natural medicines get to the root of the disease, treating the basic drivers that cause the problems thus allowing the body to restore homeostasis.
“As you can see they both can complement each other beautifully. Take for example the use of statin drugs which often leave people with lethargy and muscle soreness but with the addition of co Q 10 enzyme the symptoms disappear and energy returns,” Ms Gobbos said.
“You may be asking “Why hasn’t my doctor told me of this?” and the answer is because doctors have to learn so much they do minimal nutritional study and therefore really don’t know - that is unless they have done further study.”
Ms Gobbos believes this is where naturopaths can help you.
Naturopaths can do an EDMC, which looks at your medication and supplements and other lifestyle factors.
Through this naturopaths look at the evidence, dosing, monitoring and communication and then can give you the information to give you the best health outcomes.
This free service is available from naturopath June Gobbos at Amcal Pharmacy in the Whitsunday Plaza for the next month.
