Mul­ti­hulls meet in twi­light race

FOR once, Ru­pert King and his mul­ti­hull Over­drive were joined by Sirocco (Mar­cus Arthur) and Wild Thing (Keith Roberts) for the weekly Whit­sun­day Sail­ing Club twi­light race.

Wild Thing claimed the best start for Di­vi­sion 1, and with clear undis­turbed air, car­ried the lead around the course to take the line honours victory. Over­drive and Sirocco had a close race, with a 10-sec­ond split in Over­drive’s favour at the fin­ish.

Sailors in Di­vi­sion 2 had an ex­tremely close battle, with the en­tire fleet fin­ish­ing within four min­utes of each other.

Trea­sure VIII (Rob Davis) spent the race hunt­ing John Gal­loway’s QMS, but the ever con­sis­tent Gal­loway held off the attack to fin­ish first by a minute.

He was closely fol­lowed by Twis­ter (Kevin Fog­a­rty), with Es­o­teric (Col Forster) man­ag­ing to claim the hand­i­cap win.

High Tide (Shan­non Hart) was the line honours
