Wil­liams takes so­cial lead

RICK Wil­liams has surged to the lead of the Sun­day So­cial Bowls Ta­ble with his fourth win of the sea­son.

Wil­liams teamed up with Ge­orge Sim­monds on Sun­day at the Air­lie Beach Bowls Club to de­feat Col Howes and Kevin Jewell 29-19.

Wally Gray, Henny Tat­tam and Margo Stan­ley were also win­ners on the day, ac­count­ing for Elaine Kip­pen, Derek brown and Jo Howes 34-14.

Derek Brown, Wally Gray and Peter Law­ton are cur­rently tied for sec­ond on the ta­ble be­hind Wil­liams with three wins apiece.

In Wed­nes­day’s men’s jack­pot, Barry Zill­mann and Jim Cairns de­feated Rick Wil­liams and Col Howes 30-20 while Ge­orge Sim­monds and James Argo got the bet­ter of Peter Law­ton and Keith Beetham 2821.

Nik Fern­bach, Steve Tat­tam and Wally Gray knocked over John For­na­seiro, Derek Brown and Herb Se­combe 2822 to round out the day in which the jack­pot was not won.

In other news from the club, the kids and fam­i­lies from Campy Qual­ity took to the greens on Sun­day morn­ing for a roll.

The kids had a great time and the club would like to ack- nowl­edge the sup­port of Derek Brown, Sandy Bar­rille and Rick Wil­liams.


Regina Aqualina and Mar­garet Hen­ney took care of Margo Stan­ley and Tess Walker 19-14 while Lane Telford, Noela White­head and Rhonda Lloyd de­feated Jo Howes, Jenny Ry­der and Di Dob­bins 1716.

The ladies’ jack­pot cur­rently stands at $200.
