Ju­niors en­cour­aged to have a hit

TEN­NIS Whit­sun­day will host a “free play” af­ter­noon for next week’s Just Do It Ju­nior So­cial Ten­nis out­ing.

The friendly hit will take place on Mon­day from 3-4.30pm at the Can­non­vale Courts, where af­ter­noon tea will also be pro­vided.

In other news, Fit, Fun Ten­nis – the up­beat gym work­out on a ten­nis court – was a blast on Fri­day.

The girls were in top form and whisked them­selves through the drill, led by Mon­ica Ga­bor.

Tues­day evening so­cial ten­nis was an en­ter­tain­ing af­fair, with com­pet­i­tive sin­gles played on all courts.

Amy Hunger­ford and Si­enna Mau en­joyed a colour­ful match while Peter Shep­herd, Gra­ham Curtis, Norm Hold and Rick Galea en­joyed a dou­bles clash.

On Thurs­day evening so­cial ten­nis pro­duced a strong turnout, led by Yoko Stim­son, Tracey Bland, Anna Now­icki and Jenny South­ern.

Satur­day morn­ing wel­comed ladies’ dou­bles, with Celia Smith, Kate Ap­ple­gate, Lisa Moir, Pam Pearce and Sa­man­tha Hin­ton en­joy­ing a hit, while Betty Wil­son, Rex Robin­son and John and Ch­eryl West hit the court later in the day.
