TWO losses from two starts is un­charted wa­ters for the Whit­sun­day Raiders, but they’re not jump­ing ship just yet.

On Satur­day night Kut­tabul stole a thrilling game at the Whit­sun­day Sportspark, se­cur­ing a late try to notch an emo­tion-charged 21-20 win.

The Raiders had a chance to se­cure victory with the last kick of the game how­ever the penalty at­tempt was waved away – leav­ing Whit­sun­day 0-2 to start the Mackay and Dis­trict Rugby Union sea­son just one year af­ter not los­ing a game.

Raiders’ en­forcer Brook Cad­wal­lader said there was no need to panic.

“It’s a long sea­son ahead. We’ve got a lot of play­ers com­ing back and the coach isn’t even here yet, so it should be in­ter­est­ing to see what hap­pens when he rocks up.”
