Friends to pay trib­ute to Kerry

LONG-TERM Whit­sun­day res­i­dent and for­mer pres­i­dent of the Whit­sun­day Golf Club, Kerry Hall, passed away in Townsville last week at the age of 75.

Kerry and his long-time part­ner Fran Ale­man re­cently moved to Townsville af­ter many years in the Whit­sun­days.

Orig­i­nally from New Zealand, Kerry came to Air­lie Beach about 30 years ago.

A for­mer block­layer and publi­can, he man­aged the Whit­sun­day Sail­ing Club be­fore work­ing at the Reef Gate­way Ho­tel for more than 15 years.

Kerry was a very keen golfer and in­stru­men­tal in the devel­op­ment of the Whit­sun­day Golf Club, where he was pres­i­dent un­til very re­cently.

He was known as a kind and con­sid­er­ate gen­tle­man who was very popular among his col­leagues, golfers and the wider Whit­sun­day com­mu­nity.

Kerry is sur­vived by his part­ner Fran, daugh­ters Danielle and Re­nee, son Bradley and Fran’s son Ian.

A fu­neral ser­vice for Kerry will be held at Bel­gian Gar­dens Ceme­tery in Townsville on Wed­nes­day, May 13, at 11.30am.

Lo­cally, there will also be a me­mo­rial cel­e­bra­tion in the Reef Gate­way Ho­tel’s Reef Room on Satur­day, May 16, from 4pm.

POPULAR MAN: Kerry Hall will be missed by the many mem­bers of the Whit­sun­day com­mu­nity who were proud to call him their friend.
