Friends to pay tribute to Kerry
LONG-TERM Whitsunday resident and former president of the Whitsunday Golf Club, Kerry Hall, passed away in Townsville last week at the age of 75.
Kerry and his long-time partner Fran Aleman recently moved to Townsville after many years in the Whitsundays.
Originally from New Zealand, Kerry came to Airlie Beach about 30 years ago.
A former blocklayer and publican, he managed the Whitsunday Sailing Club before working at the Reef Gateway Hotel for more than 15 years.
Kerry was a very keen golfer and instrumental in the development of the Whitsunday Golf Club, where he was president until very recently.
He was known as a kind and considerate gentleman who was very popular among his colleagues, golfers and the wider Whitsunday community.
Kerry is survived by his partner Fran, daughters Danielle and Renee, son Bradley and Fran’s son Ian.
A funeral service for Kerry will be held at Belgian Gardens Cemetery in Townsville on Wednesday, May 13, at 11.30am.
Locally, there will also be a memorial celebration in the Reef Gateway Hotel’s Reef Room on Saturday, May 16, from 4pm.
