Art workshops teach painters to loosen up

Whitsunday Times - - CHILL. -

ART enthusiasts of the Whitsundays, here is your chance to build those brush strokes.

Local artist Wendy Eriksson is passing on her impressive skills with a Still Life Mixed Media Contemporary Art workshop at the Art Whitsunday Gallery.

Ms Eriksson said the goal was to get people to be freer with their artistic style.

“They can learn how to paint in a different way and it teaches them techniques to loosen them up,” she said.

“It’s a creative art workshop where it’s based on still life and mixed media with acrylic.”

Ms Eriksson said the classes were suitable for all skill levels.

“From beginners to the advanced; it’s for anybody,” she said.

The multimedia aspect of the class also gives participants the chance to work with many different styles such as pencils, crayons and paint.

All utensils are supplied, although artists are required to bring their own canvas.
