Skippers swap sea for land

Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

A GROUP of skippers from Prosail and Mantaray, joined by Aqua Dive staff, swapped the water for the bush and spent Saturday afternoon getting muddy on a mini 4WD tour at the Wings Whitsunday Adventure Park.

The tour explored the Whitsunday hinterland near Kelsey Creek on twoperson 4WD side by side buggies, on scenic trails meandering through grasslands, creek beds and open forest, and climbing to a lookout for magnificent views of Proserpine and the Conway Range.

Skills were tested en route at the man-made challenge area, crossing see-saw bridges and negotiating tyre mounds.

There were smiles all around as the tour finished with the mud pit challenge, a one kilometre circuit of sweeping berms and mud puddles.

Tours depart Airlie Beach week day mornings and afternoons. A driver’s licence is required to drive the buggies, bring closed-in shoes, a change of clothes and a sense of fun.
