Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

JOIN eminent microbiologist and researcher John Ellerman (pictured) as he takes us on a journey through the human gut.

Calling into Airlie Beach on Monday, May 11, as part of his North Queensland tour, Mr Ellerman discusses the role of probiotics and gut health in overall well-being.

A scientist of more than 35 years in the field, Mr Ellerman has specialised in the field of probiotics for 30.

Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for your health, especially your digestive system.

Mr Ellerman believes in order to maintain a healthy digestive system we need to ensure we have enough good bacteria.

Unfortunately the balance of good bacteria can often be compromised by a number of everyday factors such as stress, excessive alcohol intake, a poor diet or use of antibiotics or oral contraceptives.

Organiser Lee Hawkins said an encouraging number of tickets had already been sold and that fortunately seats were still available.

She promises an informative and totally engaging talk that’ll provide an understanding as to why “gut health” is so important for general well-being and healthy.

Entry is only $10 and the talk will take place at The Palm House of the BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort.

To book contact Lee Hawkins on 041 429 5480.
