New bridge club for Airlie Beach

Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

THE Airlie Beach Bridge Club is up and running.

The fledging club held their first games late last month and they’re looking for more members.

With sessions on Tuesday nights and Friday mornings at the Beach Plaza, the club will host three tables a session.

Last week it was Linda Priday and Trevor Mirren who top-scored with 62%, ahead of Jose and Diana Acorriz (53%).

Airlie Beach Bridge Club’s Dale Hell encouraged the community to engage with the new initiative, suggesting it as a good means to meet new faces.

“Learn to play the game that is played all over the world and once a member of Australian Bridge Federation you can play anywhere and gain points as well as meet new people and make friends with fellow bridge players,” Ms Hell said.

“Come along and see for yourself.”

Tuesday’s game starts at 7pm while the Friday session begins at 10am. For more information, including lessons on how to play the game, contact Dale on 0416 273 598.
