Win-less Eagles eye a victory

Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

AFTER two weeks off, the Whitsunday Sea Eagles will return to action on Saturday against Northern Beaches Magpies.

Whitsunday remains winless through three games in the Allied Pickfords Cup but they’ve got arguably their best chance of victory so far this season.

Magpies have just one win to their name and finished last season with the wooden spoon.

The Sea Eagles have been training strongly over the bye and Anzac weekends and are primed for a good showing in Mackay on Saturday.

In other news, the under-13s registered their first win of the season last Saturday, thrashing Sarina 9.8.622.3.15. Whitsunday trailed 9-0 at quarter-time but bounced into action from there, kicking nine goals to one in the last three quarters.

The under-15s fought hard against Mackay City but ultimately lost comfortably.

This weekend, the under-13s will travel to Mackay to play Magpies while the 15s and 17s both have byes.
