Drink-driv­ers

WHIT­SUN­DAY po­lice have charged three drink-driv­ers, two of who were al­legedly high-range.

A 34-year-old Mackay man re­port­edly had a blood al­co­hol read­ing of 0.208%.

A po­lice spokesman said the man drove straight across the round­about at the Shute Har­bour and Tropic Rd in­ter­sec­tion on May 8.

About noon on May 6 a 62-year-old man was pulled over on Shute Har­bour Rd, near the Reef Gate­way Ho­tel.

It is al­leged his blood al­co­hol read­ing was 0.088%.

Later that night a 35-year-old woman was picked up for a ran­dom breath test on Water­son Way.

It is al­leged her blood al­co­hol read­ing was more than three times the limit at 0.168%. All three will ap­pear in the Proser­pine Mag­is­trate’s Court.
