Whitsunday home to ‘star’ on national TV
ANNE McDonald couldn’t believe it when she was contacted by Best Houses Australia.
The Australian television series showcases some of the most stunning homes in the country, so it is no small feat that local business Integrity New Homes Whitsundays has made the cut.
Ms McDonald, who is a sales consultant with the new home builder, said the show’s producers wanted to do a feature on one of their designs.
“And we were in the throes of finishing a luxury build in Illawong Crescent in Cannonvale,” Ms McDonald said.
The double-storey home in question is spread across a 938m2 block and features a large boat port and an eightby-four metre concrete rendered pool.
Ms McDonald said this standout home was all about outdoor lifestyle and living in the Whitsundays, with inside living areas flowing out into a 60m2 outdoor living area through a bi-fold window.
She explained the brief for the house was “to maximise the views” and said the design did just that.
From the front there are vistas toward Hayman and Double Cone islands and from the rear you can see the Botanica and Woodwark coast.
Ms McDonald said one of the film crew even commented on the actual finish of the home.
“He said ‘the quality here is quite outstanding’,” she said.
Filming took place on May 14 over about four-anda-half hours.
Ms McDonald said it was really exciting, especially considering the business had only been in the Whitsundays for about three years.
She said the feature would be included in the luxury show segment on 7mate.
