Local personalities get ‘jail’ stint to help PCYC

Whitsunday Times - - COMMUNITY -

TEN Whitsunday locals will put on black and white stripes and serve time behind bars this Saturday for Whitsunday PCYC’s Time 4 Kids 2015 at the Whitsunday Plaza.

Time 4 Kids is an annual fundraising promotion to improve the facilities at the Whitsunday PCYC.

Local business people, politicians and other community members will be locked up by local police in purpose-built prison cells from 9am–noon this Saturday.

The detainees are required to raise their bail amount of $1000 to be released, or their visitors can donate to keep them locked up.

This year’s objective is to raise funds to replace/update the PCYC’s Whitsunday playgroup and kindy equipments.

International characters Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be visiting the shopping centre this weekend to assist with their favourite cause – kids. Ask mum or dad to take your photo with Mickey and Minnie for a gold coin donation that will go directly to the Whitsunday PCYC.

If you are unable to attend, but still want to donate, visit www.time4kidsqld2015.everydayhere.com/au/whitsunday-pcyc.
