Campaign lifts holidaying in Whitsundays to next level

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY BUSINESS -

LAST week, Tourism and Events Queensland in partnership with WMDL, the local tourism industry and Wotif.com launched a new interstate tourism campaign to encourage Australians to book the perfect winter escape to the Whitsundays.

The Every Shade of Perfect campaign is lighting up TV screens in the key visitor markets of Sydney and Melbourne and is featuring online and in cinemas throughout Brisbane until June 7.

Appealing holiday deals from our local industry partners will be promoted on Wot if.com/Whitsundays and across Wotif.com channels to encourage travellers to book their winter escape to the Whitsundays now.

The annual Whitsunday East Coast Roadshow is also currently under way.

WMDL and 10 local tourism operators are promoting the Whitsundays to key trade and media contacts in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

The roadshow is now in its fifth year and we have certainly seen an immense increase in registrations to the event. It is a great opportunity for participating businesses to network and connect with Australia and New Zealand’s travel distribution network.

As a tourism operator, it is essential to update business partners on your products and the experiences available in the Whitsundays and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our local operators who are currently on the road with us.

A massive “thank you” goes to the teams at Airlie Beach Hotel, at Hotel Group, Coral Sea Resort, Cruise Whitsundays, Daydream Island Resort and Spa, Hamilton Island, Ocean Dynamics, Ocean Hotels and Tourism, Ocean Rafting and Whitsundays 2 Everywhere. Together we have a great showcase of some of our region’s products and I am confident that it will help take promotions of the Whitsundays as Australia’s premier holiday destination to the next level.
