Big Morning Out is a must-do for little ones

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY KIDS -

IT’S A great day to be young at the Proserpine State School’s Big Morning Out today.

The morning out is the main event of Early Childhood Australia’s Under 8’s Week, with any Whitsunday kid under eight welcome to come down.

Today’s activities will include face painting, goo, dancing and crafts just to name a few.

Proserpine State School Grade 1 student Avalon BlackStone said she was looking forward to playing with the goo again at her second Big Morning Out.

“It felt really funny when I put my hands in it,” she said.

Meanwhile the school’s Year 6 leaders are also eager to help out.

School captain Jack Dwyer said he was “looking forward to working with the little kids on fun activities during the day”.

There will be plenty of fun activities to choose from as well with a “hands on historical display”, a story craft stall and “some giant animal visi- tors”.

Kids will also get the chance to meet some of our local heroes with a visit from police, fire, ambulance and SES officers.

To satisfy those fun-induced tummy rumbles, parents will be hosting a sausage sizzle where kids can get a snag and a drink for $2.
