Under-15s runner-up in Townsville

Whitsunday Times - - MOTORING -

The Whitsunday Netball Association’s under-15 Xtreme team has finished second in its age group at the Townsville McDonald’s Netball Carnival at the weekend.

Overall, the association had six teams take part in various age groups for what was a great weekend of netball.

It was the under-15s who fared best though, claiming the runner-up prize.

“The girls played seven games over the two days, winning six of these and going down by one point to the top team,” Xtreme coach Ali Edmonstone said.

“The girls played with only seven players throughout days – their sportsmanship and team effort definitely needs to be mentioned. Congratulations on your runnerup victory.”

Erin Scothern

(under-11s Mighty Tigers) and Sasha Taha (under-13s Whitsunday Jets) won Most Valuable Player awards for their respective divisions.

UNDER-15: Sarah Davidson, Cassidy Webb, Jayde Woodley, Chanadda Klumkratok, Georgia Fuhrmann, Tayla Goody and (front) Erica Filby at the carnival.
