Yacht club Night on Dock offers rich fare
THE Abell Point Yacht Club is inviting local boaties to a Night on the Dock, replete with King Island cheeses and fine wines.
The night of fine food, drink and club fellowship will be held on the L Arm of the Abell Point Marina this Friday, May 22, at 5.30pm.
The night out, which is a fundraiser for the club, has been organised by Fish D’Vine and will feature wines from the Fine Wine Partners portfolio, all of which are on the restaurant’s own wine list.
Expert advice and wine information will be provided by recognised bar professional Mark Wyatt.
And for a special “sting in the tail” there will be a great neat rum to finish.
All products have been donated for the event and the complete proceeds from the night will go towards making the club more financially robust and able to host further events in a similar vein.
The price to attend is $20 for club members and $25 for guests and potential members of the club.
RSVPs are essential as numbers will be capped. Email firstname.lastname@example.org. Entry fee is payable by cash on the night.
The next on-water event for the club will be the fourth Coral Coast Race and Rally.
The Rally to Magnetic Island leaves Airlie Beach on Tuesday, June 2, and the Race on Friday, June 5.
APYC spokesman Luke McCaul said while support for the rally had been fantastic, “there has been little interest for the race component to date”.
He said a minimum number of boats was needed for the race, but there was still time to register and be part of the event.
