Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

The rain didn’t stop John West and Kay Hoare from having a hit at the Cannonvale Courts on Saturday.

They teamed up to form a dominant doubles duo, while Ian Eldridge also returned to the scene.

Tuesday afternoon social tennis saw Merle Foot, Betty Wilson, Trish Rouse and Rex Robinson on court while the night session was occupied by Graham Curtis and Keith Miles, who took on Norm Hold and Elly Watkins.

Wednesday Warriors were out in force, with Cameron Rusk, Cameron Rogers, Caden Yusken and Riley Applegate leading the charge.

Fit, Fun tennis – the upbeat gym workout on a tennis court – welcomed Tania Dorr and Lesley Nolan this week, while the coaching pupils of the week were Cian and Max Nugent – who illustrated tremendous footwork.

Tennis Whitsunday would also like to congratulate Jack Raiteri and Cameron Rusk on advancing to the next round of school try-outs and Rebeka Beveridge, Amy Hungerford, Emma Bradtke and Sienna Mau for their efforts at the Junior Development Series event at Townsville.
