Two workshops are coming up

Whitsunday Times - - BUSINESS -

THE Airlie Beach Chamber of Commerce committee has been very busy over the last nine months with weekly meetings and a lot going on behind the scenes.

The big-picture moments for me have been getting the chamber working efficiently with local council, WMDL and all the local volunteer groups and festival committees.

We all want the same thing – for the Whitsundays to be a vibrant, self-fulfilling place with a powering business community.

We have also met with the volunteer cruise ship ambassadors and with the help of our members created a coupon flyer, including a map, to be handed out to all passengers encouraging them to shop in our members’ businesses.

Feedback so far has been mixed but overall more positive than not.

We intend to improve this over time to a larger format so watch this space.

Our recent speed networking night at the Reef Gateway Hotel received positive feedback.

Thank you to John O’Neill and the crew for hosting this for us.

As our members would know there are two workshops coming up.

A workshop on tendering for business is on June 18 and a date for a grant writing workshop will soon be advised.

This will be open to all local sporting and events committees.

We are asking for expressions of interest for a workshop for writing capability statements for businesses.

Capability statements are vital in showing the professionalism of your business and will put you well ahead of your competitors from the start.

Please email info@airlie beachchamber.com.au to express your interest in the workshop.
