Jam session at the club

Whitsunday Times - - CHILL -

A NEW event is about to kick off in the Whitsundays and it begins with the tap of a beat and the singing of a song.

Open mic jam sessions will start at the Whitsunday Sailing Club each Sunday afternoon from this week.

From 1-5pm children can make the most of the jumping castle downstairs while parents kick back with some easy-listening tunes.

“It’s going to be something for everyone,” said Airlie Beach Festival of Music or- names.

All styles and genres are welcome. You just have to bring your own instruments.

Each week the open mic jam sessions will be hosted by a different musician, whether local, interstate or travelling.

Kicking off Sunday’s very first jam session at the Whitsunday Sailing Club is local band Tropic Temple.

Mr Butlin said, over time, he expects lots of musicians from the festival to make an appearance too.
