WHITSUNDAY GOLF: GREY skies and the threat of rain didn’t stop Whitsunday golfers on Sunday, with 26 players taking part in weekly play.

Light drizzle made life difficult but it didn’t stop Kym Hill carding +3 to win A-grade from Scotty Wardroper (+2) and Ernie Holstein (+1).

The men’s B-grade winner was Mark McDougall (+5) from Brad Hammond (+1) and Reg Kercher (-5) while Jacqui Wall bested the ladies with +6.

The ladies’ ball rundown included Tiina Randmae (+3) and Penny Wardroper (-2) while longest drives went to Mick Caton, Reg Kercher, Jacqui Wall and Lori Thynne.

Nearest-the-pins went to Ross Richards (2 and 9), Tiina Randmae (13), Mark McDougall (2), Linda Wardroper and Lori Thynne (16).

This Sunday the club will play a Tiger Woods stableford aggregate whereby team scores are added together instead of multiplied.
