Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

The Whitsunday Equestrian Group hosted the annual supreme two-day competition at the Cannonvalley Pony Club at the weekend.

Participating riders travelled from Sarina, Mackay, Dysart, Collinsville, Bowen and Townsville to challenge local riders in both dressage and showjumping.

The supreme event is the club’s biggest competition for the year and president Tracey Davies said the dressage nominations exceeded expectations, with a second dressage arena required to accommodate the large number of riders.

Whitsunday Equestrian Group members Charlie, Abigail and Georgina Lee won the 60cm, 80cm and 100cm show- jumping to earn the trophy rugs sponsored by Beef Em Up Stockfeed.

Local rider Tori Mansfield also achieved the highest point score for the junior dressage while Melissa Lamont recorded a similarly big score in the senior classes.
