Jett and Kane win ten­nis recog­ni­tion

Jett and Kane Bleine have been named this week’s Ten­nis Whit­sun­day coach­ing pupils of the week.

The young ten­nis aces won the award fol­low­ing great com­mit­ment and con­cen­tra­tion in one of their lessons last week.

In other news, Kate Ap­ple- gate and Pam Pearce hit the court for a set on Satur­day morn­ing while Elly Watkins and Rebeka Beveridge fol­lowed later in the day at the Can­non­vale Courts.

Just Do It Ju­nior So­cial ten­nis on Mon­day af­ter­noon was packed full of en­ter­tain­ment, with Ky­bie and Bray Phillips tak­ing on Jasper McKin­non in an ex­cit­ing game of dou­bles.

Lesley Nolan was also in ac­tion while Daniel Scott and Dar­ren Rusk played out an epic battle on Tues­day un­der lights at the Can­non­vale Courts.

Gra­ham Curtis, Keith Miles, Norm Hold and Chris Phillips also played a grip- ping game of dou­bles.

Thurs­day night so­cial ten­nis saw Alita De­Brin­cat, Tracy Bland and Yoko Stim­son hold their own against male com­peti­tors while Fit, Fun Ten­nis – the up­beat gym work­out on a ten­nis court – was full of run­ning.

The club will have a se­ries of play­ers at­tend­ing the Ju- nior Devel­op­ment tour­na­ment in Bowen this week­end and coach Jenny Kirk­man said she wished all at­tend­ing well.
