Win­ning week­end for ju­nior Sea Ea­gles

It was a win­ning week­end for the Whit­sun­day Sea Ea­gles, with the club win­ning three out of three games on Satur­day.

The se­niors were suc­cess­ful for the sec­ond time this year while ear­lier in the day the un­der-13s pro­duced a dom­i­nant dis­play to dis­man­tle the Mackay City Hawks.

The un­der-13s were ruth­less, not al­low­ing Hawks to score a sin­gle point un­til the fi­nal quar­ter – ul­ti­mately run­ning out 18.8.68-1.0.6 win­ners.

Jay­den Clark was the star up for­ward, boot­ing four ma­jors for Whit­sun­day while Ai- dan Allen-Fancke, Cal­lum McMurdo and Rhys Ward each kicked two.

Cal­lum was named best on ground for Whit­sun­day while Zac Schultz and Ethan Boyle each con­trib­uted strong per­for­mances.

For just the sec­ond time this year, the un­der-17s stepped onto the field – this time to take on Eastern Swans at Etwell Park.

The young Ea­gles were able to record their first win of the sea­son, run­ning home vic­to­ri­ous 79-27.

Young gun Rhys Fuhrmann starred and was named best on ground while North Queens­land un­der-16 rep­re­sen­ta­tive Maty Jenk­ins was also strong.

Rhys, Maty and Lach­lan Matthews each fin­ished the game with mul­ti­ple goals to their names while Sam Cor­nish, Mitch Healey, Hud­son McGre­gor and Lo­gan Mil­li­gan also hit the score­board.

This week­end all grades will play the Eastern Swans at the Whit­sun­day Sportspark.

The un­der-13s will start the day at 9.40am while the 15s will soar at 11.10am.

The un­der-17s will play the cur­tain-raiser to the main game at 1pm.
