Winning weekend for junior Sea Eagles
It was a winning weekend for the Whitsunday Sea Eagles, with the club winning three out of three games on Saturday.
The seniors were successful for the second time this year while earlier in the day the under-13s produced a dominant display to dismantle the Mackay City Hawks.
The under-13s were ruthless, not allowing Hawks to score a single point until the final quarter – ultimately running out 18.8.68-1.0.6 winners.
Jayden Clark was the star up forward, booting four majors for Whitsunday while Ai- dan Allen-Fancke, Callum McMurdo and Rhys Ward each kicked two.
Callum was named best on ground for Whitsunday while Zac Schultz and Ethan Boyle each contributed strong performances.
For just the second time this year, the under-17s stepped onto the field – this time to take on Eastern Swans at Etwell Park.
The young Eagles were able to record their first win of the season, running home victorious 79-27.
Young gun Rhys Fuhrmann starred and was named best on ground while North Queensland under-16 representative Maty Jenkins was also strong.
Rhys, Maty and Lachlan Matthews each finished the game with multiple goals to their names while Sam Cornish, Mitch Healey, Hudson McGregor and Logan Milligan also hit the scoreboard.
This weekend all grades will play the Eastern Swans at the Whitsunday Sportspark.
The under-13s will start the day at 9.40am while the 15s will soar at 11.10am.
The under-17s will play the curtain-raiser to the main game at 1pm.
