Completion rates up in solid win
“COMPLETION rates” are the buzz words at the Brahmans at the moment and it showed in their performance on Saturday night.
Whitsunday posted its third win of the season against Moranbah at the weekend thanks to an ability to maintain possession.
According to coach James Webb the Brahmans completed 14 of 15 sets in the first half and remained “around 75%” in the second 40 minutes.
“We have been working on our completion rates and getting back to basic structured football before we take our chances,” Webb said of the 26-20 victory.
“With the win out there (Moranbah) we can start to get momentum.
“Those tight games will start going our way.”
To the Bulldogs’ credit they were a vastly different side to the one that was thrashed by the Brahmans in March.
“They were a lot better than when we played them in Mackay,” Webb said.
“I only recognised one player but for us it was a really good game of footy.”
James Faust, Phil Ramage, David Kay and Ivan Petelo led the charge for Whitsunday, while Rhys Little bagged a double.
After overcoming the big- gest road trip in the game, the Brahmans are now within touching distance of fourth position on the Auscoal Super A-grade ladder.
This weekend all three Whitsunday teams will take on the Wests Tigers.
