Practice looms this Sunday for the riders
THERE is a practice day on this Sunday for Supermotard race bikes from 7.30am.
Riders can nominate on the day for Sunday’s practice that is strictly open to race bikes only.
Local competitors are gearing up for the National Supermoto Championships in Newcastle next week.
Race secretary Mungo McMurtrie expects around 10 local riders to compete in the Australian titles.
However this practice day is open to all riders with race bikes from beginners to professionals to hit the bitumen and have a go – in a non-competitive and supportive environment.
All is quiet on the Whitsunday Raceway front for the Supermotards with just several practice days confirmed over the next few months.
Supermotards will have official practice days on July 5 and August 2.
In September riders will fight it out in round three of the Club Championships and in October the raceway will play host to the Queensland Supermoto Championships on from 2-4.
