Marathon squash win for Aimee Hill

It took all her en­ergy but Aimee Hill even­tu­ally got the points in Tues­day’s Proser­pine Squash round against Chris Fuller.

Aimee pre­vailed 3/35-2/29 in what was the only five-set match of the day.

In other re­sults be­tween teams 1 and 4, Jodie Fer­di­nand de­feated Judy Hughes 3/ 30-1/19 while Belinda Faust got the bet­ter of Alex OgilvieKnight 3/27-0/10. Julie Mitchell (play­ing for Joy Vi­tanza) knocked over Ida Arici 3/270/8 and Lucy Pep­per out­lasted Brenda Cowan 3/27-0/6. Team 2 also took on Team 3 on the day, with Louise Cox win­ning over Di O’Don­nell 3/27-0/4. Mar­ian Church­ward de­feated Jodie Fer­di­nand (play­ing for Leah McKel­lan) 3/33-1/13 while Julie Mitchell (play­ing for Pauline Ogilvie) won over San­dra Wat­son 3/33-1/19. Jenny Mo­ranino got the points over Nicki Mur­ray 3/34-1/27 and Deb­bie Brown edged out Di Law 3/34-1/21. Next week the quar­ter fi­nals will be held, with teams 2 and 3 lock­ing horns. Team 1 plays Team 4.
