Country team selected
NETBALL: The under-14 team to contest the Suzuki Country Carnival has been finalised following selection trials on Monday night at the Whitsunday Sportspark.
Local players Caitlyn Lindsey-Wilmott, Takeisha Graham, Caitlin Newbury, Pearl Giles, Madison Jepsen, Zali Hinschen, Danae Scouthern, Emenie Jensen and Emily Neil have all been picked in the team, which will travel to Townsville for the August 1–2 event.
The Suzuki Country Carnival, formerly known as the Sunshine Carnival, is the last state event on the Netball Queensland calendar.
The event comprises all associations in the state and includes divisions for under-13s, 14s, 15s, 16s, 18s, open male and open female.
Brad and Lauren Teys will act as coach and manager for the carnival.
In other news, the Junior Carnival, open to ages 8-15, will be held on June 21 at the Whitsunday Sportspark.
