Amazing Airlie

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

WE WOULD like to sincerely thank the wonderful people of the Airlie Beach region for their help with finding our lost dog Roxy.

Roxy escaped from a carer while we were visiting Airlie for Easter.

Thanks to the kindness of locals, and thanks to the Facebook Page – Lost Pet Coordinator Whitsundays Region – Roxy was thankfully reunited with us.

The Lost Pet Coordinator Facebook page is run by a wonderful group of volunteers (thanks so much to Carole and Jane who we had the pleasure of meeting).

They, as well as many other people of Airlie, went out of their way to help us search for our lost best mate, who was found after 22 hours of extensive searching (and many blisters).

If you ever lose your pet, find a lost pet or sight a loose pet, please post details on the Lost Pet Coordinator Whitsundays Region page on Facebook. It works! We had so many locals, taxi drivers, bus drivers etc call us to advise of sightings.

This incredible group and Facebook page will save so many pets by reuniting them with their loved ones, and this group will also save the frantic owners a great deal of heartache.

Once again, thank you so much to the delightful people of Airlie Beach who assisted us to find our beloved 14-year-old dog.

So many people helped us by searching for her, letting us stomp through their yards, advertising that she was missing, calling with sightings etc.

Total strangers even drove the streets looking for her.

Such a caring community – words cannot express our gratitude.

Tracy Thompson and Paul Kanters,

Yeppoon
