Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

THE recent wet weather has been a contributing factor to a number of car crashes of late.

On Tuesday, a 27-yearold woman from Jubilee Pocket received minor injuries after skidding on a wet road and crashing into a tree.

She was travelling along Mandalay Rd around 9am when the accident occurred.

Meanwhile the driver of a Nissan Tiida was lucky to walk away with just a few bruises and scratches after running into an SUV on Shute Harbour Rd at Brandy Creek on Friday.

Although it was raining at the time, it is unknown if weather played a part in the crash. Notably, locals have taken to social media calling the turn-off to Brandy Creek Rd dangerous.

There were reports of another car accident on Valley Drive in Cannonvale.

Whitsunday police officer in charge Senior Sergeant Steve O’Connell has urged locals to take extra caution when travelling in wet weather.
