Sliced over pizza
A FRENCH tourist accused of stabbing his younger brother twice during an argument over a pizza box has been granted bail.
Stephan Paul Lucien Rey was initially brought before the Proserpine Magistrates Court following an incident at a Bowen caravan park last Wednesday.
The 29-year-old made no application for bail and was remanded in custody until Monday morning’s sitting of the court when an interpreter and duty lawyer would be present.
Rey’s younger brother, who was transported to Mackay Base Hospital with wounds to his chest and abdomen including a 30cm laceration that required butterfly stiches, was present in court on Monday morning.
Rey, who is eight months into his working holiday in Australia, was granted bail to appear at a later date, on the condition he surrender his passport and reside in town.
