ENVER, with its close proximity to the mountains, is known as the gateway to Aspen, but beyond the slopes there is much to discover about Colorado’s biggest city, once home to the legendary Bob Dylan.

Nicknamed the “mile high city” because its elevation is exactly one mile above sea level, Denver is a slower-paced city but still bustling with personality.

One of the must-see attractions in Denver is Larimer Square, which is bursting with bars and restaurants.

Rioja is among the highlights, with its Mediterranean-inspired menu really hitting the mark.

Award-winning executive chef Jennifer Jasinski is a shining star of the Denver culinary scene, with three other restaurants under her belt including Bistro Vendome, Euclid Hall Bar and Kitchen and seafood bar Stoic and Genuine.

Home to a number of major sporting teams including the Denver Broncos (NFL), Colorado Rockies (MLB) and Denver Nuggets (NBA), Denver is a sports enthusiast’s paradise. Soak up American culture at its best by going to a game and cheering on the local team.

Whether you are a sporting fan or not, you should watch a Rockies home game at Coors Field located right by Denver Union Train and Bus Station.
