BRUSH up on your knowl­edge for the Zonta Club of the Whit­sun­day’s first trivia night of the year.

The much-loved event re­turns this Satur­day night to the Air­lie Beach Bowls Club and is set to get brains tick­ing.

This year the Zonta mem­bers have in­tro­duced a cou­ple of new cat­e­gories to chal­lenge par­tic­i­pants.

As well as the usual sport and mu­sic cat­e­gories, at­ten­dees can ex­pect a round of “what’s the main in­gre­di­ent” which is sure to get food­ies whoosh­ing to the buzzer. There’s also the “woman to women” cat­e­gory, so those want­ing a good score had bet­ter start fa­mil­iaris­ing them- selves with those fe­male trail­blaz­ers. Other cat­e­gories will in­clude “around the state” and “pic­ture recog­ni­tion” but Zonta mem­ber Ker­rie Adam said she couldn’t give too much more away. Money raised on the night will go to­wards Zonta’s lo­cal projects in­clud­ing a new one called the spe­cial as­sis­tance com­mit­tee, whereby young women can ap­ply for ed­u­ca­tion bur­saries as well as spe­cial and in­di­vid­ual as­sis­tance. Tick­ets for Satur­day’s trivia night are $15 per head and the evening can host ta­bles for a max­i­mum of eight.
