Wet weather not enough to keep karters off track

A SMALLER than usual field took to the Whit­sun­day Race­way on Sun­day for round four of the Whit­sun­day Mo­to­sports Club kart­ing club cham­pi­onship, with many choos­ing not to risk the wet weather.

How­ever, with the sun com­ing through early in the morn­ing, the track was in good con­di­tion by the time rac­ing be­gan.

Damian White took out the Cadet 9 di­vi­sion, with Ri­p­ley Beale fin­ish­ing sec­ond in his first race with the club.

Lara Had­low took home the gold in Cadet 12, with no other rac­ers tak­ing part.

In the Sports­man Light, Darryl Stark held off Liam McLaren to claim the line hon­ours.

An­drew Vella crossed first in the Sports­man Heavy ahead of Be­van Gar­i­och and Bryan Rei­tano.

Daniel Mur­rell was too good in the Ju­nior Na­tional Light, edg­ing out Ni­cholas Gar­i­och and Lin­choln Baker to take home the points.

In the Ju­nior Na­tional Heavy, it was Nathan Had­low fin­ish­ing on top of the podium with Leonie Ansell in sec­ond and Heather Ansell in third.
