Meet the Guys and Dolls
LUCK isn’t just for ladies at the brand new, uni-sex hair studio Guys and Dolls in Airlie Beach.
Located towards the end of Airlie Beach main street, is local hairdresser Shanon Plowman’s stylish new salon.
A rock face wall with a slim mirror slate dresses one side of the quaint salon that was once the Cutting Crew.
On the other side operates local nail technicians Nailz by Dezign.
Above the sleek black basins and top quality relaxation chairs, sits a magnificent image of a jetty bathed in a burnt orange and deep purple sunset.
The look of the salon itself just screams “metropolitan meets seaside” and to top it off is the face of the hair studio – Shanon.
Shanon Plowman is an experienced hairdresser with 10 years under his belt.
With a grandmother and aunt as hairdressers, as a child he always knew what he was going to be.
Shanon specialises in colours and razor cuts and the salon provides everything from cutting, colouring and styling.
He originally purchased the salon in April this year and continued to trade through re- novations – building up a steady clientele – and officially opening this month.
“Some clients have told me I gave them the best hair cut they have had in years,” he said.
Shanon has attended many hairdressing courses in Newcastle and Sydney to ensure his skills are up to date.
Since the beginning of the month he has officially been trading as Guys and Dolls Hair Studio.
Shanon brings to the salon Alfaparf Milano, a leading Ita- lian multi-national manufacturer of professional, exclusive hair colour, hair care and styling products.
“I swear by Alfaparf; I’ve used it for most of my career. Their products have always been created by stylists for stylists and colour artists, available exclusively to prestigious salons,” he said.
Guys and Dolls Hair Studio is open Monday-Saturday from 9am-5pm with late appointments available.
