Reserves get the job done

Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

THE Whitsunday Brahmans reserves have recorded their eighth win of the year, overcoming Brothers with a powerful second half on Sunday.

Whitsunday led 4-0 at half-time at Les Stagg Oval before the game opened up in the second stanza as the Brahmans ran out 22-4 winners.

It was a clinical second half from the hosts, who broke away from Brothers the longer the game went on.

As a result of Sunday’s win, the Brahmans now sit third on the John Donnelly The Good Guys ladder behind Sarina and Souths.

In other results on the day, the under-18s went down to Brothers 30-18.

While it wasn’t the result Whitsunday was looking for, players can hold their heads high for Brothers are one of the under-18 competition leaders.

The loss means the Brahmans fall to fifth on the M Group Under-18 ladder, with five wins and five losses so far this season.

This weekend all three teams will play Souths at Shark Park in Mackay.
