Flem­ing’s day out on the course

TOM Flem­ing won a string of prizes at the Proser­pine Golf Club on Tues­day, led by a com­fort­able win in the 18-hole com­pe­ti­tion.

Flem­ing scored 38 points to beat a strong field of 27 play­ers – one of the big­gest for the year.

John Grosskreutz, Harry Gel­latly (34), Trevor Paroz, Rus­sell Rear­don, Bill Woods (32), War­ren Deighton and Dave Mor­ris (30) fin­ished in the ball run­down for the 18-hole com­pe­ti­tion.

Cap­ping off a win­ning day, Flem­ing also won a near­est the pin flag, while Tina Baden­horst took the ladies’ prize.

The nine-hole com­pe­ti­tion saw Kather­ine Borer vic­to­ri­ous with a round of 19.

Bill Woods, War­ren Deighton, Rus­sell Rear­don, John Grosskreutz (18) and Caro­line Awdry (17) fin­ished in the ball run­down.

Peter Browning and Caro­line Awdry won the pin shots for the nine-hole com­pe­ti­tion.

Next week the Vets will play a nor­mal round at the Proser­pine Golf Club on Tues­day.
