Reef Fest gala to bring the giggles

Comedic double feature will delight

Whitsunday Times - - REEF FESTIVAL -

IF YOU love a good laugh then listen up Airlie Beach, there’s something in this year’s reef festival just for you.

The Whitsunday Reef Festival Comedy Gala is sure to have your sides aching as two of the nation’s best bellylaugh bringers take to the stage.

Comedian Demo Simis will feature this year after a chance encounter with event co-ordinator Ellen Kerr aboard a cruise ship in late 2014.

Entranced by his command of the comedic form, Ms Kerr invited Mr Simis to perform at this year’s reef festival – which he gladly accepted.

The man born to be behind the mic started his entertainment career as a DJ at just 16-years-old, but soon found his true talent was giving people a good old giggle.

Taking to the stage full time in 2008, the energetic comic has gone from strength to strength.

Be prepared to laugh when he takes to the Whitsunday Arts and Cultural Centre stage tonight as this bloke is a bona fide side-splitter.

Also appearing tonight will be a comic well known to the WACC stage, Steve Allison.

Local audiences will know Mr Allison’s talents well, with the comic renowned for his quick wit and fast delivery.

It doesn’t take long to realise that Mr Allison is at home with a mic in hand and an audience to entertain as his calm and collected approach puts viewers at ease.

This confidence is hard earned, with more than 1000 live shows under his belt, all mixed with a healthy dose of natural talent.

A special change to this year’s show is the significant price drop from the 2014 event, with pre-sale tickets on offer for only $25.

Ms Kerr said the $10 discount was a way of giving locals the chance to have a laugh without breaking the bank.

Doors open tonight from 6pm for a 7pm show, with last-minute tickets available at the door for $30.

Drinks and food will be on offer throughout the night to make it just that little bit special.

Child minding is available with prebookings.

Get in quick to secure your spot as this talented team-up is sure to sell out quick.
