Frocktails show truly beautiful
A SIMPLY beautiful Frocktails is the only way to describe this year’s Whitsunday Reef Festival event.
The premier high-end show had ladies and gents flocking to the Whitsunday Arts and Cultural Centre on Saturday night to watch the region come alive in fashion.
The event featured a 45-minute catwalk channelling the theme ‘spellbound’.
Reef Goddess opened the show with a voodoo black magic look, the models strutting down a fairy light-lit runway, lighting it up themselves with lanterns and other props.
Court and Spark Boutique was a force to reckon with, the crowds cheering as beautiful local women modelled the edgy and exclusive range.
Airlywood’s kaftans turned the models into “wandering gypsy hearts” and Lotus Boutique unveiled its Honey and Beau Wanderlust collection – dropping jaws along the way.
Reef Festival volunteer Stacy Harvey said it was the best Frocktails yet in terms of pro- fessionalism.
“The fashion show was, as promised, spectacular,” she said.
“All of the models, hair stylists and make-up artists worked really well together.”
Frocktails co-ordinator Sa- rah Homburg said it was always a special event.
“That’s what this town has – they really come together with no competition or rivalry,” she said.
Next year will mark 10 years of Frocktails.
