Sweet suppawt for Tyson

Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

HE might only be seven-years-old but it seems Cannonvale State School student Tyson Gosney has captured the hearts of the Whitsunday community.

He decided to take part in RSPCA’s Cupcake Day event and its support has escalated beyond his and mother Sarah’s beliefs.

“I wanted to help animals find a home that is nice where owners are nice and not mean to them,” he said.

Tyson was moved by his love for pet American staffy Ox and a cat called Tia ‘TiTi’, which passed away last year.

Together with his family, they have been busy in the kitchen cooking up a storm with nearly 100 orders to date.

Woolworths in Cannonvale even donated a $50 voucher to help with ingredients. Tyson has a goal of raising $300 and is already at $181.65. Mrs Gosney believes he is one of the youngest people to ever sign up for the challenge.

“He always comes up with his bright ideas on his own... He’s the kind of kid that’s forever supporting the underdog so it really did resonate with him the idea that people would be cruel to animals,” she said.
