Warning: Falling coconuts

What do you think of the Ratepayers’ Association idea for coconut signs?

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

Clive ‘Polly’ Lloyd, Jubilee Pocket:

Just baskets, that’s all they need to catch them. And council can empty them from time to time.

Robert Manning, Cannonvale:

Just look up and live. Just because you’re on holiday doesn’t mean you need to leave your brains at home.

Nadine O’Sullivan, Cannonvale:

Signs sound like a good idea. They have them in other tourist areas that have a lot of coconuts.

Mark Cain, Airlie Beach:

That’s a great idea, and they should hire me to design them. I’m an artist and illustrator.

Barbara Russell, Mt Marlow:

Wouldn’t they be better to put up nets? I’ve seen them do that in other places.

Ruth Boast, Cannonvale:

This is a basket case idea. What happened to the idea of baskets?

Kevin Keric, Cannonvale:

Coconuts kill more people than sharks, and they put up signs about those. It’s probably a good thing, but it’s all about the expense.
