Full of surprises

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

WHY is it that the community is never given the whole truth?

The mayoral update at the meeting on October 28, 2015, records “The Mayor and the Acting CEO attended the International Tourism Conference” in China but surprisingly she forgot, conveniently, to mention that the CEO Mr Waters was also in China as was Mr Wang.

They were happy snapped together somewhere in China.

Now our understanding is that Mr Waters was supposedly committing himself fully to the proposed international airport project, so why was he there and furthermore were councillors made aware of this and who approved the associated expenses?

And then we have that recent photo of Mayor Whitney, the Acting CEO and again, Mr Wang enjoying the surrounds of a cafe in Airlie Beach and of course we can assume there was no discussions concerning the proposed Chinatown concept or of the international airport.

Just old friends enjoying each other’s company.

And oh, we should mention that Mayor Whitney told us at a recent council meeting that she has never met privately with Mr Wang.

The world is full of surprises, isn’t it?
